It was The Girl's birthday today - the big one - double digits! I called her at her fathers - she said she didn't feel any different since it wouldn't be her actual birthday until 8PM - it used to be they wouldn't recognize their birthday until the day of the party!
When I was done talking to her (from work), Mike called her from the house and sang Happy Birthday to her. She got a kick out of that.
The kids flew back form Ottawa last night. It was so good to see them. When we got out to the truck we surprised The Girl with a cupcake and a candle and sang Happy Birthday to her in the parking garage at 10:30 PM. She was thrilled and grinned from ear to ear.
This morning Mike made her pancake and then met her at school for lunch. He dropped off the cupcakes for her class too - hopefully they turned out ok. When we placed the order, the woman actually fell asleep while writing down the info. The stored called yesterday wondering how they were going to fit 19 letters on 24 cupcakes. I am not sure what the prerequisites for working in the bakery are...
Mike did say they looked good and they even decorated the extra ones with flowers. Hopefully they pass The Girl's inspection. I am sad that I don't get to taste one, but when Mike was done at the school he picked up the Baskin Robins Ice Cream cake for tonight. Yum!
