Yesterday we had our first snowfall since we moved to Texas. I was woken up at 5:50 by the school district automated call to tell me that school had been delayed by 2 hours. I was supposed to be up at 6am, but I decided it was a good day to work from home, went and turned off The Boy's alarm and reset mine and went back to bed.
Mike is an early bird so he got up to make some coffee and read his newspaper. After an extra hour of sleep i heard a commotion - The Girl had woken up and came downstairs 'Did you forget about me?"
It was funny because she woke up, but took the time to get dressed, bushed her teeth and her hair before coming to investigate why no one woke her for school.
Since she had some time to kill, we dug out her snowpants and snow boots (We are Canadian!) and she went out and built some snowmen and snowangels before i dropped her off at school.
I spent the rest of the day actually working and got more done at home than the last week at the office. Soon The Boy was home - he came in carrying a scarf and hat - there was nothing left of the new snow, or the snowmen.
We might get more on Friday. I hope so, it would be nice to stay home again.
