Back to the airport. Check in went ok, the kids had their boarding passes already, but we had to get some to get through security. Their bags were already checked from the previous day. The flight boarded on time and we sat at the gate until the plane was gone.
We headed home and curled up on the couch. I watched the clock until they were supposed to land in Chicago. Their stop over came and went and no phone call form The Girl. It was disturbing, but he flights were all showing on time and I didn’t hear from the airline so they must have been ok.
Finally they made it to Ottawa – tired and happy. No bags though. Not a huge surprise. We all figured as much.
I have a horrible cold and I can finally sleep, but the house is so quiet without them. It’s not home when they are gone.
