Going Home

Found out recently that we have been cleared to return to Canada.

We greeted this with mixed feelings. There was a possibility that we could have stayed for another 6 months to a year. Which would have meant
- the kids friends coming down for visits over the summer
- trip out to the Gulf Coast
- Cruise out of Galveston
- another year of school down here for The Girl to work on her reading without dealing with another language
- possibility of The Boy returning to Canada early
- the kids spending most of the summer in Canada without us

It took a few days to decide that going home now would be a good thing. As much as I would have like to stay to the bitter end of the program, I have finished my work months ago and now i spend a lot of time waiting on other people.

Going home early means:
- getting to spend the summer by our pool
- driving home in nice weather and taking the long way home to look at some cool stuff
- getting to see the kids on a regular basis over the summer
- the kids being back with their friends
- getting our dog back
- hubby getting back to his career instead of working at just a job
- seeing our friends again
- working in a facility where I can walk around
- TIM HORTONS - Canadians will understand this.

We will miss the opportunities that we had to travel and do things with the kids while we were her. But, we really made an effort to get out and see as much as we could and tried to take advantage of every long weekend. We will leave with lots of fun memories and look forward to more adventures.
