Sea World for the Girl Part 1

Since The Girl had the big birthday this year – double digits, and we were not able to throw her a big party with her friends back home, she really wanted to swim with the Beluga Whales at Sea World.

Of course, like the over indulgent parents we are – we arranged for it, and as a surprise we also booked a back ground tour of the penguin habitat.

The kids were both really excited about the Belugas. We got checked in and had some time to kill before our swim so we checked out a few of the shows. We also decided to go and feed the birds – but we were the first group to go in for the day. The birds looked like they were going to eat us. I was trying to our the nectar into another cup so each kid could hold one and I got swarmed. I love animals, but only from a distance. I am never too fond of sharing my personal space with them.

The Boy loved it and clicked away with his camera while making fun of the faces I was making. The Girl freaked initially, but eventually held one of the cups and a few of the birds sat on her arms.

Hubby took the kids on one of the rides – which doesn’t look like much until you get to the top. It is a roller coaster that just goes up and down some hills – but you really pop off your seat at the tops of the hills. I didn’t mind being the one to hold the bags for this one. I had gotten sucked into it last time! Ha Ha!
