After weeks of practice we finally got to see the talent show.
Got home, inhaled a PBJ sandwich, did The Girls make up and rushed back to the school for her final check out - there was a problem with her cd. I figured at least I would be there early enough to score some decent seats.
Ha!
Psycho PTA moms had already been there and placed reserved signs on all the seats. I ended up in the third row. Plus - an amazon sat in front of me so whenever The Girl was on stage I had to scurry down the row and video tape form the aisle.
At least the show was awesome. It was done to the theme of ‘Night at the Museum” where the performers were grouped into exhibits and were introduced during the night watchmen’s shift changes.
It was very original and clever. It was written and produced by The Girl’s class – Grade 4.
The Girl had two shifts as a watchmen – I think she loved that part the most because she got to wear her brother’s suit jacket and tie. The jacket was too hot under the stage lights but she looked really cute in the tie.
She also sang ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’. A group of girls had done the same song earlier and they added in a comedy bit about her missing her group of statues. Very cute and got a lot of laughs.
The Boy was dragged there, but he ended up really getting into it. He was bouncing in his seat and got the family next to him going as well. I thought they were doing to do the wave. The Mom next too him seemed really taken with him, all I kept thinking in a year or too he will see her as a MILF. I watch too much HBO TV.
After the show The Girl had The Boy piggy back her all around while she introduced him to her friends. Too cute.
After the show we surprised the kids with Baskin Robbins – luckily we got there before all the other families came up with the same idea. The kids had a great time but The Girl was dragging her bum this morning.
