The Lost Phone

I was cleaning up The Boy’s room and chatting with him about life. He started looking really sheepish and finally admitted that he couldn’t find his cell phone. I promised I wouldn’t’ tell Mike and told him to check at his Dad’s the next time he was there.

Wasn’t at his Dad’s. Now I did start to worry. I sat on it for a few more days and before I told Mike – The Girl came to me.

The Girl: I found The Boy’s cell phone.

The Mom: Where was it?

The Girl: In my closet?

The Mom: How did it get there?

The Girl: He came to see what I was watching a few weeks ago and it fell out of his pocket when he was lying on my bed. I thought I would play a trick on him and hide it – but then I forgot about it. I was cleaning up and I just found it.

So I came clean and told Mike the whole story.

He called The Boy down. He came halfway down the stairs while his buddy J was up in the hall.

Mike: Where’s your cell phone?

The Boy: I can’t find it.

J disappears down the hall

Mike: Did you know I get the bill?

The Boy: No.

Mike: Well I do and it was $300 this month.

The Boy withers down to a sitting position.

Mike: I called the number and some girl answered. She said her boyfriend gave her the phone.

The Boy got pale – I thought he was going to pass out.

Mike: Just kidding – The Girl found it.

The Boy rushed her – I thought he was going to kill her. He picked her up and swung her around. We called J out and told them the whole story – it was hilarious! Score one for the Step Dad.
