We got up early and grabbed breakfast at the hotel and headed out the Grand Canyon. There was hardly anyone on the road. We got into the park and stopped a few of the look outs. It was a spectacular as I remembered. The Girl was excited that we could see the lookout for the end of Bright Angel Trail. I had hiked the Bright Angel Trail twice almost 15 years ago.
We drove over to the Bright Angel Lodge and walked down the trail until we got to the rock tunnel. The Girl was all set to walk farther – it is so easy to walk down, but so much harder to walk back up.
We ended up walking out a lookout trail. The views were fantastic. I got a good view of the entire Bright Angel Trail – it is so much longer than I remember. I would love to go down it again but I don’t’ think I could get back up. Maybe we will try the Mules if we come again.
