Drive Home Day 6: Flagstaff, Az - Las Vegas

We got a fairly early start. Even though it would only be a 4 hour drive, we were concerned about being stuck going over the Hoover Dam. Turns out we had nothing to worry about – traffic slowed down but we had no problem getting across. We stopped on the Nevada side and got out for a quick look. 10 min was more than enough in the heat. The Girl would have been happy to continue watching her movie and head straight to Vegas.

We got to out hotel – Planet Hollywood - no problem at all. We had splurged and reserved a suite with a panoramic view of the Strip. When we checked in we were informed that it would be a few hours until our room was ready. Even though it was a short drive we hadn’t slept well the past two nights and we were exhausted. We asked nicely and ended up with a free upgrade.

The room was on the 32nd floor with a view of Paris and the Bellagio fountain. As we were walking down the hall, The Girl was looking for our room number. All the doors were regular until we got to the end where our room was – huge double doors. The room didn’t have the panoramic view of the strip, but the room was very cool. It came with a pool table and a foos ball table. There was a poker table and other sitting tables as well as a lounge area. We had two bathrooms – the one in the lunge had a phone and the walls were velvet. The Girl was very impressed. We called The Boy – he wasn’t.

We grabbed a quick bite and then headed for the M&M Store – all four stories of it. We made it out with only 2 big bags of loot. The Girl was so excited. We carried on to The Bodies exhibit. The Girl did good. She liked the smaller displays of pieces, but didn’t’ care for the full bodies displays. She was ok to look at them while we walked by, but couldn’t look at them too close or for too long.

We got back to the room for a quick round of foos ball before heading down to Treasure Island to catch the Mystere show. It was awesome. The Girl was so excited to finally see a Cirque du Soleil show. We were in the fourth row so we had a great view of everything.
